So, this year I have decided to make my own halloween decorations from stuff i have laying around the house. I know this is a crochet bog, however, i thought it'd be fun to switch it up a bit!! These are all going to be pretty easy crafts and i will be posting them with instructions as i go along. ☺ Enjoy & have fun!

The first idea i came up with, was for our main wall in the house. After exploring online for ideas I finally came up with this!

Basically, all i did was take some yarn i had laying around and make the web, using this link as a guide:

Spider Web guide

For the bats, all i used was black construction paper & double sided tape. I found a great template to work from and I just traced multiple bats onto the black construction paper, stacked a few sheets together & cut them out. I then folded the wings upwards and curvy, placed the double sided tape on the underbelly & stuck them to the wall as pictured ☺ I will definitely be putting more of these around the house.

Bat template

The spiders i used another template guide, but the one i used is for spider garland so it was alot faster to make them. I then used some glitter to make them fun & spooky.

It is finally completed :) I must say that I have definitely learned a lot of different crochet techniques and stitches that I have never seen or done.

I have two favorite stitch patterns that we used during this CAL.
My two favorites are the braiding technique and the cross treble technique!
I will definitely be using those techniques on future projects.

Since today is Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015... We got our first clue!!!
Which can be found at: http://www.yarnspirations.com/kal-cal#week1

I love the fact that that they have 3 different pattern options for you to see!!

1) Written out pattern

2) Diagram

3) Video

How helpful is that?? EXTREMELY!! Especially considering that its probably going to get a lot more complicating and I am definitely going to need the extra help!! LOL

So these are the 4 Colors I chose for this project!!

I got this pattern from http://www.yarnspirations.com/patterns/peppermint-puff-baby-blanket.html

I really loved this pattern!!! And was so happy to find out that it was free! I mean, who doesn't love free patterns?? The reason I loved this pattern so much was because it challenged me personally a couple of times and I always love a good challenge, especially the ones i can end of figuring out :D! It is so soft and so pretty!!! I cannot for my niece to be bundled in it <3 Please feel free to comment.

This is my first blog that I am actually hoping to stick to, so lets see how it goes :)

First things first, let me introduce myself to all of you :) My name is Danele Kellar and I am a stay at mother to my two beautiful children, Alexis (4) & Ethan (1). I also have three more amazing stepchildren, Maddison (15), Daniel (14), & Maghan (12). I have the best fiance in the world, Edwin Garzon, who completely supports my passion! Without him none of this would be possible!

I learned how to crochet when i was 10 years old by my nana, Patty Rice. I remember sitting on her couch and watching her crochet different projects. There was this specific moment i remember when i wanted to help her crochet a blanket and she explained me to me that not everybody crochets the same and has different techniques (which i know to be true now). I was stubborn and insisted that I could make them look the same (I had only been crocheting for about a week at this point). So my nana let me, even though She took out my stitches afterwards lol (She thought i didnt know) haha. Anyways, point is... I just wanted to share that story :) lol & crocheting is something i love to do. :)

So....
This is Day 1 of my blog, so excited to see its turnout :) Have a great day everyone!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11150364114967282805noreply@blogger.com0
